our Story

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, founder Becky Quinn was faced with a highly restricted diet and was in search of healthy foods that were high in energy. She began eating nuts, oats, honey, and other healthy foods and eventually started to bake them together as granola - perfecting a beautiful blend of flavors. Immediately, friends and family became obsessed - a silver lining following the battle with breast cancer.

With her friends hungry for more, Becky decided to formalize the operation and launch BQgranola in 2012. In that first year, most orders were entirely handwritten and given as holiday gifts by friends. Since then, we’ve gained customers in nearly every state, updated our packaging, re-branded, and rolled out a full-service subscription offering.

While the company is still young, the recipe used today was inspired by an age-old formula created by Becky’s grandmother - a woman who taught Becky the importance of home-cooked, nutritious food and its impact in bringing people together.
